I was wondering since i have no idea about wind farms or anything. whats better to set up a wind farm at. The plains of Kansas, The streets of Chicago, The mountains of Colorado, or the shores of northern Oregon?
There are a lot of factors that determine where to put in a wind turbine complex. One of them is the cost of real estate, and that rules out the streets of Chicago, but it might not rule out the roofs. Another factor is the power available from the wind which is determined by the wind velocity to the third power. A third factor is consistency, i.e., the number of hours per day and per year that the turbines will be generating profitable power. The total electrical energy produced is the sum of the instantaneous product of the power multiplied by the time that it is producing that power. It is this energy which is sold, and it is the one of the basic variables that determines if the turbine makes a profit. A fourth factor is the distance to the nearest power grid where the wind energy can be added to the power grid. I suspect that the plains of Kansas might be the most profitable with the fewest environmental objections.
Does anyone know if the genetically altered Monsanto soy beans(to withstand )wind up in soy milk, etc?
I see on TV where Monsanto is barging in on farms and testing crops to make sure the farmers buy the genetically altered seeds from them instead of re-planting the seeds they grew after they originally bought the seeds from Monsanto. Anyone know if this gets into people food? I think it will eventually and no one will know, until something bad might happen.

Very good question. I've been curious about this myself. However, I do know that "organic" in the US doesn't mean all that much anymore. Do not trust the USDA organic label because they are "in bed" with Monsanto. Organic doesn't necessarily mean non-GMO. It just means that about 65% of the product is organic...the other 35% can legally be sprayed with pesticides.
Look for soy milks that say non-GMO on the package. I can't get you any soy milk sources now that are non-GMO but they are out there.
Unfortunately, Monsanto has a total monopoly on the farming business and there's no real way to steer clear of those suckers unless you get your food locally, from a farmer's market or farm stand.
I'm with you. I want to quash that horrible company but they are everywhere.
