will i hurt my diesel motor if i run veg. oil mixture as a fuel?
I have looked at formulas in the internet,and am thinking about running the diesel additive mixture DSE. Any first hand informatin on this topic.
Running Filterd veg. oil will not hurt your dissel at all. BUT there are a few things, one is that you should not start it with veg, oil, and not turn it off with veg. oil running in the system. The reasons why is that veg. oil is thicker then disel and can clog injectors. Also the oil needs to be warm so it can flow good. If it gets cold it will clog your lines. The best thing to do is buy a kit that will allow you to run both gas and oil. There is a seperate gas tank and filter for the oil, and a heater to keep it warm, it runs off your coolant line, after your truck warms up you switch to oil and run as long as you want, before you stop switch to disel and have it just run for a few min to keep your injectors clean. Its 100% safe, the kit is about $800 but will pay for itself very fast. You can get oil at any resturant for free, or you can buy it in mass quanitys for less then desiel. If you search the internet you can find a company that sells the kit. Sorry that i couldnt remember where.
