your probably better off buying a brand new camry or civic vs a used hybrid. the camry can get like 40 hwy mpg i know after we owned our prius for 4 years it doesnt get nearly as good of mileage as it did when we first bought it.
Price for a USED hybrid car?
I'm 14 and saving up right now. I'm babysitting and whatnot and plan on getting a summer job seeing I'll be 15 by then. I want a hybrid car because of gas, It will eventually pay for itself in gas becuase of how efficient it is and how good it is for the envirment. Do you think i could buy a USED hybrid car for $10,000 dollars or less? I really Know nothing about cars so sure, go aheaed and laugh at me. I know nothing about teh cost or make or anyhting. I have siblings I'll be needing to haula round so It'd be cool if i could get a back seat

Now -- your first car does NOT need to be a used hybrid. For starters maintenance is terribly high on hybrids and replacement parts and service is even higher. (2) any used hybrid is likely ready to need battery pack replacement (about $4,000 normally) so you'd be going way, way into a hole from the outset. (3) a VW Rabbit gets nearly as good fuel mileage as a hybrid does with 1/10 the headache and 1/2 the cost. It will take you over eight years of driving a hybrid to actually save money over a high mpg 'conventional' vehicle. When you factor in battery pack replacement and crummy resale value you will never see any savings. (4) while hybrids are very green today's modern 'conventional' engined cars are very, very clean. Remember, a hybrid also has a gas powered engine under the hood. A little known fact about hybrids is the extreme amount of energy used and pollution created to mine the toxic materials used in the batteries, the vast amount of fuel used to transport components across the globe, assemble the cars in Japan and then ship them to the U.S. Then you have battery disposal to consider -- very toxic and landfill unfriendly. Do yourself (and the environment) a huge favor and buy a good used Honda, VW, Toyota, etc. instead.
