although Edisons direct current ,dc, design was safer it meant that power needed to be generated and supplied at the same voltage that it was to be used. because of the low voltage that dc required the loss due to resistance in the lines was going to be substantial. This would necessitate having many power generating stations instead of just one. perhaps as often as every few miles.Teslas alternating current allowed for transformers to be used and the voltage sent down the lines to be many times higher than would be used commonly. with the higher voltage the percentage of power loss was significantly lower.
Who has heard the the new "Dave Rude Band" CD?? (He plays guitar in Tesla too...)?
I am thinking of using part of my Visa Gift card on buying the new "Dae Rude Band" LP (CD). I will have to buy it from his Myspace site...as would I have to buy a Tee shirt...which I am also thinking about.......I know of Dave Rude from playing with TESLA. He took the place of Tommy in Tesla.....Tesla fans will know what I'm talking about. I have seen Tesla TWO times with Dave Rude playing guitar...(once with Tommy playing...who is an original member). And Dave fits in soo nicely with Tesla and all the other members......really fits in like a peice of cake with Tesla.
BUT the "Dave Rude Band" is no part of Tesla. I have listened to a few of their songs on their Myspace page and it seems alright....just nothing like Tesla. I am younger....as Dave Rude is younger. He is the youngest member in the current Tesla line up. I do miss Tommy being in the band by the way. Tommy was the other guitarist along side of Frank Hannon (whom is kick ***) when I got turned onto Tesla.
That is news to me. I'm a huge Tesla fan (also seen them two times live haha) and haven't heard about Dave Rude's new cd. When I went to Tesla's first concert this guy who was standing next to me said how Dave was Tommy's son. I was like umm... no? haha.
I'd say to definitely check out the cd though, and let me know what you think of it 
I know for certain that it isn't going to hold a candle to Tesla (they are in my opinion, one of the most underrated bands of all time) but it still might be decent. Never know...
Ohh, and by the way, Frank Hannon does kick some major a$$. He's a truly talented guitarist. One of my favorite actually.
Nice choice in music. I love seeing younger generations get into the all those types of bands. I'm fairly young myself (21) and try to recruit all my friends in my age group to listen to the 80's hair bands (obviously with Tesla included).
