green energy electric
Can our crumbling infrastructure handle electric vehicles?

Every summer in California we have rolling blackouts because we are using more electricity than we are creating. What will happen when people start plugging their vehicles in to the wall? Will we be able to keep up with the energy demand, or will these new green technologies create huge problems? Has anyone heard anything about this?

Hopefully, we will be adding more Nuclear, Wind, and Solar power on our grid to support the added power requirements. Nuclear is the best because it can supply power reliably 24 hours a day. Wind and solar are also more expensive, and still require 100% back up power be available for time when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun doesn’t shine (about 70% of the time).
