How can we convert pressure into elactricyty. . ?
I am working on alternative energy project.I am willing to convert pressure into elactricity diractly for example a closed glass tube with mercury is heated by stimulated and amplified solar energy it expands and pressurised inside now i want 2 convert that pressur into elactricity with out allowing the mercury out of the tube .I welcome exparts openions &advices,details on previous attempts and reffarance links. . . I apprichiate both positive and negative opinions. . !
one main thing you should remember:
if the pressure is ever increasing or ever decreasing then you can't produce electricity. cause the first thing you should do is to produce oscillating mechanical movement.
we go to early days of electricity. first electricity ws produced by moving a bar magnet inside the loop of copper wire. there was an oscillating movement of magnet. since then every electricity producing machine, no matter how advanced is it. uses oscillating motion. except photo electric instruments.
not what you can do is:
you will have to produce an oscillating pressure in the glass tube. that means after a certain extent the pressure will start to decrease. you can do this by putting sensors which will allow the mercury inside to cool down again to a limit, when this limit is reached it will Again heat up the mercury. this will move the piston in the glass tube. and will produce oscillation and thus electricity.
but oscillation is a necessary for alternating currents. but it not a compulsion for direct direct current. see what you can do in this field.

Will a Solar pool heating system damage my roof over time?
I am about to buy a automatic solar pool heating system, it has the worlds highest standards in manufacture and is supposedly the best selling system on the market. My roof is a flat colourbond steel zincolume roof. I am just a bit worried because when we bought the house we had to replace the roof as the old owners had removed a solar pool heating system which corroded the roof. I am planning on getting am using a Helicol solar pool heating system with an Individual tube design and a 25 year guarantee.
Do you think from your knowledge or past experiences if it will damage my roof?

Is the mounting system for the solar system made of metal? There is a corrosion problem when 2 different metals contact each other.
