What color of solar blanket for pools works the best?
Clear is the best for allowing SUNLIGHT to deeply penetrate INTO your pool water. This will allow maximum utilization of the solar energy available.
IF you use any color of material, then it will stop the sunlight from pentrating into the pool water, and will absorb the sunlight. In absorbing the sunlight, it will convert it to infrared [heat] and some of that will re-radiate back up into the sky above, while some will by conduction, heat only the surface of the pool, but it will be highly ineffiecent.
Any infrared radiation back into the atmosphere above the pool cover is totally wasted, so it's best to allow as much sunlight as possible to penetrate into the pool water.
Is there such a thing as a solar powered blanket? If so where can I buy one?
I dont mean pool blanket. Same as electric blanket for a bed.
Maybe I should make my self clearer.
During the day the blanket and solar panel will be layed outside to sharge. Then at night bring it in put it in the bed and turn on the switch to let it warm the bed before getting in.
There is a survival blanket sometimes called a solar blanket. Basically a Mylar coated with a reflective film. In the sun, it reflects heat to keep you cool. In cold weather, it reflects your body heat to keep you warm.
