The Civic or the Corolla will be the two effeiciant ones there but all depends on engine size really that one.
As for resale value, jap crap holds its value pretty well so its not something you need to worry about with any of them.
As for maintainence, being jap cars they are quite good reliability wise so any of them with a regular service will be pretty good.
