With landscape lighting, is it better to have line voltage w/ built in transformers?
With landscape lighting, is it better to have line voltage w/ built in transformers in the fixtures, or use a transformer? My project includes 4 "brick lights" which will be installed in brick columns at the entry and driveway gates.
I have seen some of these LED brick lights which include a built in transformer, for use with line 110 voltage.
I have looked at 12 volt transformers and I actually wouldn't know where to place the thing. Obviously, it would have to get plugged into an outside outlet and be hung close to the outlet, on the house. To me, that just isn't a clean installation.
ive used both types and preferrer the remote transformer type ,the fixture last longer and you can keep all your transformers in the garage out of harsh weather
