Could you help me fined the power factor of three phase 415V 50Hz supply. The coils are connected in delta and each coil has resistance of 20 ohms and inductive reactance of 15 ohms.
I got the impedance per phase which = 35 ohms
Voltage per phase = voltage per load = 415V
current per phase = 11,86
current per load = 20,52
I need power factor for fined total power consumed.

From what I understood from your example:
The 3 phases are balanced
and
the load between two phases is
Z= R + jX = 20 + j15
The power factor (PF) is the ratio of P(real) / P(apparent) that are delivered by each phase line.
Since the system is balanced the three lines have the same PF
Let us assume:
Vrms = the voltage between 2 phases
The current in one branch is
Irms = Vrms / Z
so
P(apparent) = Vrms * Irms = Vrms^2 / Z
while
P(real) = Irms * Irms * R = R * Vrms^2 / Z^2
Finally
PF = R * Vrms^2 / Z^2 * Z / Vrms^2
PF = R / Z = R / SQRT( R^2 + X^2) = 20 / 25 = 80%
Does the minimum watt requirement change when buying a soft start inverter?
I have a 3/4 horsepower shallow well pump that is currently connected to the circuit breaker at 115v. with a 20 amp fuse. Is the pump actually using 2300 watts or is this rated according to an inductive load? I have not been able to find out the actual amperage for the pump, so I am going to buy an inverter with a continuous wattage rating related to the 20 amp fuse it is connected to. I have read that a soft start inverter reduces the power spike involved in high induction starts. Does this change what I need to purchase? Also, I do not have the money for the quality of a xantrex, what is a less expensive brand that will not fail after warranty?
Not exactly.
There will still be some circumstances where you will see high current draws.
The high current required for starting electric motors comes from the need to overcome the moment of inertia of a stationary armature. The "soft start" ciruitry "nudges" the armature into motion and can reduce some of that initial surge current requirement, if you are using a true sine wave output inverter as your current source.
If you are using a modified sine wave, add an inductor in series to protect the motor and the soft start circuit.
