Do you think a Summit 110,000 BTU heat pump is sufficient for 20x40 inground pool?
I live in southwest Ohio and would like to open my pool in April and close in October. April and October's avg high is in mid to high 60's f °. maybe 70's depending on the weather. The pool is 20x40 rectangle with apx. 27,800 gallons of water. After doing some research...I'm thinking I will need the 125,000 BTU exchanger.
The pool is only partially shaded by a tree before noon and I will be using a solar cover as well. This is my first experience with a heat pump and low utilities (efficient use of heater) is my main goal.

well the heat pump is a good way to go for energy use. But you might wanna consider to get a bigger one. I work in HVAC and work specifically with heat pumps but never with pool applications. Sound like it might be to small. water is more dense than air so it takes longer to heat up or cool down. Cause of that your heat pump might be running longer than intended and kinda defeats the purpose of a heat pump (energy saver). I would call a pool expert on this.
Should I plumb my above ground jacuzzi in with my in-ground pool?
I am about to install a fancy Pentair Intellitouch pump with their new flagship Quad DE filter. As well as a ecomatic salt generator. I have a fairly Modern 400000BTU heater that I would Like to use to heat My above ground Jacuzzi, but occasionally I might want to heat the inground Jacuzzi (attached to the pool). I am thinking of buying the the intellitouch automation and utilizing all the new equipment for both.
Any Advice?
