Bamboo Care?
A couple of days ago, I bought some bamboo cuttings on a whim and now I don't know what to do with them. The guy who sold them to me said to keep them in water for five days, and some other guy on the train ride home told me you can just keep them in water with some rocks.
What is the proper way to care for bamboo cuttings you don't wish to plant on the ground? I'm open to planting them in a pot, maybe, but I'm not really sure how much energy it would require to see they don't die... I don't have much of a green thumb, I'm afraid.
Any help or references would be great. Thanks in advance.

ANYWAYS to answer your question I have several of these around the house as they grow pretty much any place with little to no care.
I have them in some very elegant vases and the only stones I have are the ones you get at walmart / hobby stores in colours to match the room that they are in.
Over the past 4 years I have been here in the USA I have only had to throw out two sticks the MOMENT they start to turn yellow remove them from the others, you can use the little bits of foil to hold them all together or place them in the stones to hold them up, depends on the vase / container you use.
about once every 10 days or more I will take them out rinse off the roots gently and wash the stones and re fill with water...that's all the care I have ever given mine and they are going great...........my hubby gets them for me on valentines [my request] rather than roses [which I don't like] and I still have them from all four years.
