What is the best green energy source available to Australians as a whole?
I'm having trouble deciding what is the best renewable energy source in Australia, considering cost, effectiveness, and cost of repair. Please help.

Australia as a country-continent in a relatively hot climate, has various possibilities on renewable energy.
1. Solar Energy (as the country has hot and sunny climate)
2. Wind Energy
3. Tidel Energy (a lot of sea shore)
4. WVO, Waste Vegetable Oil (why throw the used oil, turn it into bio-diesel and drive)

Why Dont people understand that Building a Toyota Prius causes more environmental damage than a Hummer!?
The Toyota Prius is known as the ultimate ‘green car’! But is the source of some of the worst pollution in North America; it takes more combined energy per Prius to produce than a Hummer that is on the road for three times longer than a Prius.
As already noted, the Prius is partly driven by a battery which contains nickel. The nickel is mined and smelted at a plant in Sudbury, Ontario. This plant has caused so much environmental damage to the surrounding environment that NASA has used the ‘dead zone’ around the plant to test moon rovers. The area around the plant is devoid of any life for miles.
Many people dont know than an HUMMER gets the same MPG as a Tahoe, Escalade, Ford Truck, or even a CITY CAB!
Why do people buy these cars? And why do so many people have beaf with Hummer Owners?
There's a lot of myth, urban legend, and misinformation out there on hybrid vehicle batteries and vehicle production, thanks to a flawed marketing paper by CNW and a poorly researched student newspaper article that keep getting quoted... So please stop spreading these untruths.

(They were using data from the early 1970's about the INCO-Sudbury nickel mine, which was more than 20 years before the first hybrids needed NiMH batteries, and the plant has greatly cleaned themselves up and reforested the area. If you were to add up the amount of nickel in the million+ hybrids sold since 1997, the total is less than 1% of the world's annual nickel production (far more nickel is used for stainless steel, for example).)
