How do you remove turpentine from the carpet in your car's trunk?
I accidentally spilled turpentine in the trunk of my car. It absorbed into the carpet and the spare trunk area, causing the whole car to smell pretty badly. I've removed as much as I could with paper towels, and tried cleaning the removable carpet with Simply Green and a stream of hot water. Some of the turpentine, however, still remains on the carpet and in the spare tire area. Any suggestions?
What you need to do is empty the trunk of your car completely and place either clay based cat litter in the trunk area or sand. Let either the cat liter or the sand absorb as much turpentine as possible...let it get into the trunk carpet's fibers then VACUUM with a shop vac or other car VACUUM. Lift the carpet as best you can from the actual trunk and wipe the area clean. Now any residual turpentine can easily evaperate so leave the trunk empty and open to air out under shade for a couple of hours and the smell should either be gone or is barely noticiable.
hi we are buying a new house....it was built in 2005 so it is very new. The walls and trim are white with pewter/silver cabinet pulls and a slate gray fire place mantle. The cabinets are are a medium oak color. The carpet throughout is a light sage green color. What colors compliment the white and sage green? Right now i sort of decorate in country....like navy burgandy and forrest green (this is what my couches are) These in my opinion would look awful in this newer looking home with all the clean lines. I also own quite a bit of items with wrought iron which i think would look nice. BUT i need a sort of color palate that would compliment this carpet color with all the white on the walls. Like a tan couch? White or wood coffee table? HELP! need opinions!
I have sage green in my house, couches are a dark forest green with tan and rusty brown pillows. Bedroom has blues and lavender along with the white. Yellow also goes well.
