I'm having trouble tracking down the legal requirements for emergency exit signing in public building, if you could point me in the right direction or give me an idea of the following points:
- Wording, does it have to be the word Exit?
- Color, red on white? white on red? green?
- back lighting, do all signs have to be back lit
- routing, do i need to sign a route out of a building, or all exit points?
any suggestions as to where to find this info would be great.
p.s. i'm based in the UK so I can't go into a local library.

Why does my MacBook not charge and sometimes does?
When I have my macbook plugged in the green light on the charger sometimes goes off and the computer runs on battery. If i mess around with it it sometimes goes back on but the computer usually runs out of battery before the charger kicks in again.
I have tried using different plugs in different buildings and it doesn't change. Its about 2 years old now and still has the original battery that only lasts like 10 minutes on its own.
Should I buy a new charger or a new battery?
The problem you are having right now is certainly the charger's. It seems that the wiring inside the charger cord is defective and damaged, so it will only charge in "certain" positions that completes the wiring.
I would recommend for you to only buy a new charger (since charger is cheaper, battery costs twice as much), because your laptop is old. You can just buy the charger and continue plugging in the laptop at all times until you have finally decided to buy a new laptop. Of course, if you need to use it on the go, you should consider a new battery too.
