What would you do differently if gas were, say, $9 a gallon?
Back in july, gas prices in the UK were the equivalent of around $9 a gallon (around £1.21/litre, the exchange rate then was more like £1=$2 rather than the £1=$1.50ish now so at the time that was about $9 a US gallon).
Would you cope with similar prices, or would you have to make big changes to your daily life?
I think if gas prices were that high, we’d see a lot of SUV’s and trucks up for sale for starters.
Would that be it or would you have to make other changes too?
Im assuming, if prices were that high then car companies would sell more of their European models in the US so you would be able to choose something more economical and smaller if you wanted to.
I think given that, despite these prices, a fair number people in the UK still drive SUV’s, would it really be that bad?
Maybe people would just buy a smaller SUV/crossover type of vehicle, like a Honda CR-V for example, with a diesel engine. Almost all SUV’s in the UK are diesel.
Carry on the same and save elsewhere.
