i want to buy an 88 mustang 5.0 do these details make sence?
saw an 88 stang 5.0 for sale with a holley carb. motor has been honed and new pistons and rings. mileage unknown for sure.headers and magnaflow h pipe exhaust 2.5. rockers 1.7. new suspension, ball joint, torque box, square control arm, gas line and brake line and battery. 10 mm spark plug, wires electric fan. a new 3.73 gear in diff. i drove it and it seemed like the fastest thing in the world. he showed me some papers that stated (from dyno and track) 237 hp and 249 torque and 14 second 1/4 mile.that hp and tq doesent sound like much. do those numbers make sence for that kind of engine. i would like to know is this a fast mustang or a regular mustang. also this car used to be a 4 cylinder. everything was changed for the 5.0. brakes tranny ect. does this sound like a good deal for 4000$. canadian. or does this sound like a nightmare. i dont know much about mustangs and would appreciate your help. thanks
Steve i would like you to show me were you could get a 2000 cobra for 5k. That is complete bs. Anyway just search around, i would try looking at the 87-93 cause of it being Fuel injected were you dont have to use a choke for when its cold out.
Objectively, what do you think about the 2007/2008 Chevy Cobalt?
I'm considering buying a 2007/2008 Cobalt. I've found a couple for sale in my local area that have around 40,000 miles and are priced around $8,000. Seems like a good deal to me compared to everything else I'm looking at. Are these reliable cars. I'm starting to think they aren't after doing some research. A lot of people are complaining about their keys getting stuck in the ignitions, having shifter issues, control arm bushings going bad, electric steering motors going bad, and interior rattles. If this is true, this is worse than my old Volvo I'm looking to replace. It would be a waste of time and money for me to replace it with a Cobalt. What have your experiences been with the Cobalt? I'm also considering the Hyundai Elantra, which is comparably priced used. It's actually sounding like a better car from what I read, but I don't like it quite as much.
I don't know why that other post would complain about the Cobalt. I, too, drove one as a rental - deliberately - to see what a base ecotec-powered Cobalt was like.
Sure it was buzzy, and the interior was "cheap", but no less cheap than any other base-level car, and no less buzzy, either. I was surprised by the acceleration from the 4cyl; at least the car accelerated while buzzing - I can't say the same about the Corolla's and Elantra's I've rented!
My overall impression was that it was a very good car for the money. I can't say anything else regarding the long term reliability, but it seemed like a well put together vehicle.
