Does being green actually work?
I'm doing a speech for class on our ecological footprint and how we can shrink it. I need facts or figures or testimonies that actually prove that taking a bus or riding a bike, taking shorter showers, turning the faucet off when brushing your teeth helps the environment. I understand that these are logical things and common sense but I need FACTS from credible sources. Anybody know of any?? I need to say how this action meets the problem effectively and use actual examples of these things working and helping.

Humans have always been environmentally destructive even way back when we where hunter/gathers. We wiped out the mega fauna with spears and since the invention of agriculture and villages it has gotten steadily worse. The only way to shrink the human ecological foot print and save what is left of the "natural" environment is to eliminate 4 or 5 billion people.
IWhere are you buying your "green" cleaners?
I've seen more than one person mention that ecological cleaners are more expensive than regular ones. The one's I get on-line are actually cheaper than regular products in the grocery store. So where do you buy yours? A specialty store, organic or something?
Health food stores. (I've purchased a few online, but only after I have gotten familiar with them via purchases at health food stores.)
