What could you make using ingredients from a college cafeteria?
I'm hungry for a home-cooked meal, but like any average college student, I'm broke with a capital B.
My cafeteria has the usual extensive salad bar, egg bar with seasonings, chopped up onions, meats, and veggies, oil, butter, and of course eggs. We have apples, oranges, and bananas, a breakfast bar with cereal, bread, butter, honey, brown sugar and Cinnamon, etc., and a stir fry bar with different stir fry sauces, rice, and stir fry veggies.
And here's the menu for tonight: Carved Meatloaf, Jambalaya, Black Beans, Dirty Rice, fried Okra, Fresh Yellow Squash & Onions, Corn Muffins
Any ideas?
p.s. I have a kitchen and cooking utensils at my disposal.
You could make a nice Denver Omelet w/ diced sauteed veggies, shredded cheese, adn fresh eggs.
You coudl probably make banana-nut muffins too (or at least banana muffins) outof bananas, honey, brown sugar, butter, and Bisquick (if you can find some).
You coudl also take some diced veggies, saute them in butter, and add to crumbled up corn muffins to make cornbread dressing. Bake that along w/ some chicken on top for a nice chicken dinner out of the oven.
