How long and under what conditions can waste vegetable oil be stored prior to converting into bio-diesel?
I plan to accumulate waste vegetable oil from restaurants now to convert to bio-diesel at some later time. I was wondering if the cooking oil was stored too long a time would it degrade or spoil resutling in bad fuel?
It depends on what you were planning to do to convert it to bio-diesel. In general the oil can be kept for a long time. Best to filter all solids out of it, and keep in an airtight container with only a very small air space, to reduce oxidation.

i recently bought a ford escort 1.8 diesel,i also work in a restuarant and can get used vegatable oil if i filter it can i mix it in with my diesel with out having to modify the engine,i know other people who have done it and there cars seem too be ok,also does anyone know what make of fuel pump is in a p reg escort and where can i find it cheers
do not mix with desal you mix the cooking oil with ethanol thin it has to sit so it breaks down the oil into somthing you can use then al the stuff that sunk to the bottom has to be draind out and when it is clear of all that stuff "if u do this you will know what i am talking about" you can use that in you desal engin
