Is now a good time to buy GE stock ?
Since the government is going to need to pour Billions of dollars into Alternative energy soon. I see GE as a way to go.
Im 13.
I have 4000 dollars im gonna buy 5 shares for now untill the stock goes back up a little or i see a significant increase. maybe even if it drops lower ill buy it.
But i wanna get some feedback.
Learn to read charts -- (eg. at Stockcharts.com), on the weekly and daily basis. GE looks like it may be making a turn-around here, and may be a good buy at these levels. Plus, it's in a pullback which makes it fairly interesting right now. Just decide where your maximum loss level would be, and stick to it (usually no more than about 10-15% of your entry level -- a little tougher now because stocks are very volatile in this environment)!
Wise investors never let their losses get away on them. They learn to take profits after decent run-ups and to preserve their gains.
For GE, alternative energy is just a small part of their business. What's holding them back now is their finance division which has some serious losses to contend with.

Mostly because President Bush's investments are held in a blind trust (where he does not know where the money is invested) until he gets out of office. This eliminates conflict of interests.
Gore on the other hand went and wrote legislation to send business directly to a company he owned.
