i have some solar pannels charging 4 batteries whic seem to be fine a120 volt inverter 750 watt with a step up transformer to to 220. How do i get more current ,watts into system, will the 220 ran to a breaker box the brance 120 runs from that give me more current
If I understand your question correctly the answer is No.
Whenever you transform power from one voltage or source to another there are inherent losses which are unavoidable.
You can expect to see a minimum of 15 to 20% loss of power in each transformation, this is one of the biggest problems with solar energy and one which may in 10 or 20 years time be improved and become a realistic and viable alternative to conventional methods.
In the meantime you will only get more power by having a larger inverter.
By transforming the 120 Volt output to 220 Volt, you have effectively reduced the available power from 750 Watts to 600 Watts or so.

A typical AC unit will take up to 3 times the amps to start than it does to run. Make sure the inverter has the surge capacity.
Volts X amps = watts
You can find this info on on the AC unit.
Example....110 volts @ 10 amps = 1100 watts running x 3 = 3300 watts to start this motor. Also you should select a generator/inverter in the middle of its capacity for continuous running. If its listed at 5000 watts this inverter should be run continuously at 2500-3500 watts. If you run it a peak output all the time it will burn out more quickly.
