It get pretty cold where I live. I bought a new car and I want it to last a long time. It's a 2011 Volkswagen, diesel. Sometimes, a plug isn't available to power the block heater. What would be the minimal temperature I should start my car in without causing damage to it?
as long as the coolant is a liquid, then you should be fine. coolant also drops the freezing point of the antifreeze/coolant.
